Nestled between the Verdon River and the Luberon mountain range, Gréoux-les-Bain is the ideal starting point for discovering a host of charming sites in Provence. Here are a few ideas for getting out and about during your stay which will suit all tastes.

Museum of Prehistory in Quinson (30 km): A veritable trip back in time that showcases what it was like 1 million years ago. The whole family will enjoy discovering the archaeological objects, reconstructions, life scenes and herds, etc. Rates: €7 (adults) and €5 (children). Cheese eco-museum in Banon (51 km): Learn about the history and how to manufacture AOC cheese from Banon. Direct sale of local cheese and products. More information: 04 92 73 25 03.
Doucet confectionary house in Oraison (30 km): Visit the workshop and try any of the 30 different hand-made sweets prepared with almonds, Provencal fruit and pure-cocoa chocolate. L’Occitane factory in Manosque (14 km): Free guided tour of the factory and museum. You must call the Tourist Office to book the visit. More information about the factory tour.
ITER worksite in Saint-Paul-lez-Durance (18 km): Guided tour of the ITER project under construction. There are three ways to book:

Landlords’ union – 04 92 78 09 12 (visit: €2). The visit also includes a tour of the Cadarache Centre.
The Tourist Office can organise a mini-bus for those without a means of transport for certain visits. Check out the monthly programme of fun outings (€4) for more information.
Every month, the Tourist Office organises a series of ‘fun outings’ in a mini-bus to visit the environs around Gréoux-les-Bains (between €4 and €12 per person, maximum of 8 people).
Tourists with vehicles can even follow the mini-bus if they wish to take part in the outing. (restricted number of places depending on the visit; see the Tourist Office for rates). You must book with the Tourist Office at 04 92 78 01 08.
