With almost 1 horse for every 10 inhabitants, Gréoux-les-Bains takes pride in paying tribute to the most beautiful conquest of man every year. Horse breeders, horse-riding schools and the locals get together to organise this horse fair on the banks of the Verdon River. Horse shows, endurance contests, country dances, ponies, horse-drawn carriages and various other events are on the programme each year to keep you busy.

Three breeders

The breeders in Gréoux have produced a number of famous horses in endurance riding. Gréoux is also home to several riders that have represented France on the international scene: Jean-Philippe Francès, Virginie Atger and Pascale Dietsch (village veterinarian for almost 20 years) have all ridden for the French equestrian team.

Breeder renowned worldwide for endurance horses, specialised in breeding and raising pure-bred and half-bred Arabian horses. He became well-known thanks to his home-bred horse, Sunday d’Aurabelle, which won several international titles and remained at top level for a number of years.
