The Lower-Verdon association for fishing and protection of the aquatic environment (AAPPMA) boasts a rich fishing area which covers:

Verdon River: from the Esparron dam to the confluence with the Cadarache lake
Colostre River: from the source to the confluence with the Verdon River
Malaurie River: from the source to the confluence with the Verdon River
Esparron Dam
Quinson Dam

The AAPPMA releases rainbow trout every two weeks into the Gréoux sill and into the Esparron and Quinson dams every month to keep the fishing community happy (locals, tourists and spa-goers). *

*Note: It is forbidden to go fishing on the days when trout is being released into the Gréoux sill.

There is also the ‘No Kill’ fishing route which starts at the end of the fitness trail and finishes at the bottom of the Esparron Dam.

Just like adults, children must have a fishing permit (reduced price) before they can go fishing. This permit gives you the same rights as adults.

Fishing permits

There are different types of permits: discovery permit (-12), holiday permit (15 successive days) and day permit. They are sold at the Brasserie du Soleil (Grysélis roundabout) in Gréoux, 04 92 78 01 53

Fishing equipment

Fishing equipment and bait are sold at the Total petrol station in Gréoux, avenue des Alpes - 04 92 78 02 91
