SPA TREATMENTS

The hot spring water in Gréoux-les-Bains

The hot springs in Gréoux date back to antiquity

The troglodytic spa complex equipped with the very latest facilities is set in a harmonious antique-style decor, with special galleries that open out onto the natural surroundings for relaxing moments.

A special feature of the hot spring water in Gréoux-les-Bains is that it comes out of the ground at 42°C. This means that the water is ‘mesothermal’ (moderately heated) or nearly at body temperature.

It has been ranked as calcium-sulphate-sodium spring water due to its high sulphur and calcium content. It also boasts magnesium and numerous trace elements, thus being highly soothing mineralised water. This explains the name ‘Grésilium’ which means water that relieves pain.

The modern design of the new spa complex takes advantage of the latest scientific breakthroughs in spa treatments, thereby guaranteeing spa goers efficient personalised care in total comfort.

Therapeutic indications

Whole-body hydrotherapy:

The effects of immersion: the physical pressure on the body helps stiff muscles to relax with the sensation of weightlessness.

The thermal effects of a spa treatment:
heat applied either locally or all over the body helps stiff muscles to relax, as well to relieve painful joints and dispel stress.

The specific effects of hot spring water: mineral-rich hot spring water has a hydrotherapeutic effect on the skin and the body as a whole, as well as massaging and relaxing qualities.

Hydrotherapy targeting specific areas:

Specific spa treatments: hydrotherapy tubs targeting specific parts of the body induce hypotonicity to soothe pain, to release tension and to have a sedative effect on the nervous system.

Hydrotherapy showers: the mechanical and thermal action of these showers on the vascular system stimulates circulation to make the blood flow more freely.

Combined immersion & shower treatment: remineralising or whirlpool baths and underwater jets in a spa pool gently massage the body to loosen stiff muscles and relieve stress.

Kaolin clay soaks and poultices for localised treatment induce hypotonicity to relieve pain, as well as having a sedative effect on the nervous system and nourishing the skin.
